WHO WE ARE

We’re MAS. We are an experiential agency with an insatiable need to learn more, do more, be more, and now—we’re opening our doors to a chosen few.

MAS is a bespoke experience agency of audacious creatives and technologists, working from ideation to execution to evoke emotion through bold moments—big or small, physical or digital. We partner with our clients to build fully integrated, highly effective teams that create remarkable experiences and activations around the world. Blurring the lines between departments, we strategically collaborate from ideation to execution as one team—we’re all creatives here.

Minority-led and founded, MAS has been awarded “Best Places to Work” honors by AdAge for four consecutive years. The agency’s work has been recognized by Clio Awards, AdWeek, BizBash, Event Marketer, Webby Awards, and Eventex. For more information, visit our website at MoreMAS.com and follow @ExperienceMAS on Instagram.

WHAT THIS IS

The MAS Residency program is a 20-week tasting of our MAS special sauce — who we are, what we do, and how we do it. It's a deep dive into the experiential marketing industry, where fresh minds can immerse themselves in our world (and our clients’). During this time, residents will have the opportunity to hone and grow their skills, while also uncovering new interests and opportunities along the way. Ultimately this is a unique chance to collaborate closely with leading experts in the field, forge invaluable professional connections, actively contribute to the agency’s perspective, and depart with substantial portfolio work.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re not looking for coffee runners, we’re looking for cultural collaborators! Recent grads, grad students, or anyone in the event marketing industry can apply - we're looking for standout candidates ready to go above and beyond what is asked for. We want relentless learners, envelope-pushers, and creatives who are immune to ordinary thinking. You’re not just here to sit in and watch how the magic happens; you’re here to roll up your sleeves and help shape the future for the world’s most influential brands.

We’re looking for an exceptional writer and creative thinker eager to grow and refine their skills. This person will be a part of the Marketing team but will work across both the Strategy and Marketing Departments — supporting IRL and virtual client projects, while also dedicating a large portion of time to internal marketing efforts.

Feeling it? Awesome, we’d love to have you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop marketing copy and brand messaging in collaboration with teams across the agency: Creative, Accounts, Production, and Strategy. On any given day you might be developing consumer-facing messaging for one of our experiences, crafting an impactful award submission, writing a piece about your favorite artist for MAS’ digital publication MOREMore, or developing the ultimate one-liner for a new social post.
  • Support the development of creative strategies to launch and market new brands and/or products. This includes helping to shape the brand and/or product narrative based on objectives and target audience.
  • Collect and implement client and internal stakeholder feedback to drive improvements.
  • Distill project debriefs into clear, concise, and impactful project descriptions (the what, where, why, and how) for internal and external use cases.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to the Strategy and Marketing departments — being an active participant across projects and verticals.
  • Support the Marketing department in tracking and collecting key performance data across our social channels.
  • Support Marketing’s content development by ensuring it reflects the MAS brand (tone of voice, personality, etc.).
  • Assist in the creation of social assets and resources for the Marketing department.
  • Participate in brainstorms and present at internal meetings.
  • Participate in a special capstone project with fellow residents that will result in a one-of-a-kind portfolio piece.
  • Research and analyze cultural trends, synthesize key insights, and deliver clear presentations to wider teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-2 years of academic or professional journalism, copywriting, or creative writing experience + a portfolio that showcases your past work
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with GSuite (e.g. Slides, Docs, Drive)
  • Enthusiasm for events and experiential marketing
  • Interest in marketing, strategy, communications, or related field
  • A knack for knowing what people want to see, read, and hear
  • Experience managing multiple work streams simultaneously
  • A strong pulse on pop culture and emerging social trends
  • Wordsmith, creative thinker, and natural leader. You enjoy a fresh play on words, have an affinity for telling a brand's story, and provide a strong attention to grammatical errors (what even is an Oxford comma anyway?)

*SUBMIT A CREATIVE PRESENTATION ABOUT YOURSELF*

We want to get to know you! This creative presentation is an opportunity to share how you work, projects you’re proud of, what you’re passionate about, and why MAS. We’re all about evoking emotion by daring to be bold and we’re challenging you to join us. We want to feel your excitement—about the program, what you’ll bring to the table, and what we can create together. Don’t be shy; use this presentation as an opportunity to highlight your unique personality and perspective. TL;DR BE YOU. We’re here for it.

Bonus Points: Samples of your writing are a sure way to get our attention — please add them. Additionally, we encourage you to dive deep into our website and culture manual and find unique ways to integrate the MAS personality into your deck.

Preferred Format: Google Slides (though we also accept PPTX, Keynote, or PDF)
